Mountain Wedding Guest Book Paintings

I live in Florida. I love the beach and everything that comes with it. But you know what I paint way more than tropical beaches? Mountains! Something that Florida is severely lacking. I grew up in North Carolina, and I do miss being within a couple hours drive to those Blue Ridge Mountains. Fortunately, I get lots of custom orders for mountain guest book paintings, so I get to live vicariously through the lucky couples that are planning their mountain weddings. I also get to learn about a bunch of new places that I need to visit! Here’s just a few of my favorites:

Erin and Chris - Mount Tallac, California

They wanted to showcase the gorgeous Mt. Tallac in their painting. I also changed the colors from my original mountain painting so that the lettering and the border matched their wedding’s blush pink and olive green color scheme. (PS - I’m not normally a pink person, so I was iffy when I heard about that color combo, but HOLY MOLY I need it in my life!!)

Here is the original painting available in my shop, a photo of Mt. Tallac, a sketch I provided to the couple before I started painting, and their gorgeous color palette!

K and J - Custom Colors

This couple was looking for a mountain guest book painting that matched their blue and teal invitations. Half of the stuff in my house is some shade of teal, so I was more than happy to oblige! I ordered a sample of the invitation to make sure I could get the colors just right. Color matching is actually one of my super powers - in my previous life as a scenic artist, painting scenery for theatres and theme parks, a big part of my job was mixing paint so that the colors matched exactly what was specified by the scenic designer.

B and K - Convict Lake, California

Karly loved the colors of the original painting, but wanted to showcase the location where they were getting married - Convict Lake. It starts with me doing a Google image search and then spending two hours planning my pretend vacation to a location I never knew I needed to visit… add it to the list! Once I finished going down the Google rabbit hole, I got to work on this custom painting that incorporated the lake in front of the mountains!

E and G - Breckenridge, Colorado

For this one, we stuck with the original design but switched it to shades of purple to match their wedding colors! Their colors were purple and silver, so I included a silver pen for signing instead of the standard black.

Ngoc and Kyle - Yosemite National Park, CA

I love a good engagement story, and these two mountain fans got engaged at the beautiful Yosemite Falls! For this one, we switched up the colors and the overall layout, but kept the same style.
